PERSPECTIVE: Forgot to clean makeup?

Hey everyone, what's up?

What comes to your mind when you find out that a friend, especially a woman, forgot to clean her makeup?

Have you ever experienced it yourself? Would you be curious and ask about it, or would you just laugh it off as a funny moment? Honestly, I think this has happened to many of us at some point. Forgetting to remove makeup isn’t exactly a new thing. Sometimes after a long day at work or a late night out, we feel too tired, or maybe just too lazy, to go through our skincare routine. Some women are totally okay with sleeping in their makeup, even though it's definitely not the best idea for our skin.

Speaking from experience, I’ve done it before too, and I know it’s not good, especially if your skin type is oily like mine. My face tends to get oily very easily, so when I forget to clean my makeup before bed, I almost always wake up with new pimples in the morning. It’s such a frustrating feeling! What about you, have you gone through the same thing?

Let’s be real, most women feel they can’t live without makeup. It’s more than just a beauty product, it can boost our self-confidence and help us feel more put together. In that sense, makeup becomes a little addictive. We often feel underdressed or even insecure without it. But it’s also addictive in another way, our skin gets used to certain products. Trying new brands or formulas can trigger reactions, especially if your skin is sensitive. So, switching makeup isn't always easy. It's a tricky balance, right?

Here’s something I’ve learned along the way: more people are becoming aware of the dangers of harmful ingredients in makeup, especially mercury. Mercury in cosmetics can cause serious long-term effects, including skin cancer. That’s why I’m very careful when choosing makeup brands. Unfortunately, some people aren’t picky and just try anything they find. But for me, checking ingredients and doing a bit of research is a must. You only get one face, better to treat it kindly!

Now, back to the main point, when I forget to clean my makeup, my face feels so uncomfortable. I can’t even pretend it doesn’t bother me. It feels sticky, oily, and just plain wrong. That’s why I try my best not to skip my routine, even when I’m tired. But let’s be honest, we all have those nights when we crash before we can wash up.

So here’s a little tip from me: if you forget to clean your makeup at night, the next morning take a quick shower and wash your face twice with a gentle cleanser. After that, use a toner or double-cleaning method to remove any leftover residue. Then, apply a vitamin C serum or moisturizer to refresh and calm your skin. Trust me, it makes a big difference!

In the end, forgetting something doesn’t always mean you’re lazy. But if you keep forgetting and don’t make an effort, then maybe it’s time to be honest with yourself. Our skin deserves care, and a few minutes of effort can save us from long-term damage. So, that’s my perspective. What’s yours?

Warm regards :b
